Blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in Yahweh’s law.
Lead Pastor

I was an Army Brat! I was born in Frankfurt, Germany in 1964 (Guten Tag!), but growing up, we moved all over the place. My heart, though, has always been in West Virginia, where my family has roots in the Cabin Creek area coal mining communities of Carbon, Decota and Sugar Camp Hollow. When I was thirteen we finally moved here for good, and shortly after that, I was introduced to Jesus, my Savior and Friend. I have three older brothers, one younger sister and, of course, a mom and dad, and we were all saved on the same night, October 23, 1977. It was at the end of a Sunday night service in a little country church and I’ll never forget it!

Well, a whole lot of time has passed since then, but His faithfulness to me has never changed, not even a little. Oh, I’ve strayed at times in my life, but I’m so glad He was always there waiting for me to come to my senses and come home to Him. And, now I find myself wanting everyone to know Him the way I’ve come to know Him over the years.

I’ve been married to Susan since 1985, we had Isaac in 1997, and Zoe in 2007 (I know what you’re thinking and, yes, they keep us young at heart). They light up our lives, and lighten up our checkbook. I’ll be posting some pictures of my grandkids when I’m about 85 or so, so stay tuned to see a wrinkled old man holding a wrinkled little baby. I can’t wait!

God is good! Come and experience some of His goodness at Landmark. You’ll be glad you came, and we’ll be glad to get to show you how we love people around here!

In Him…..

Children’s minister

I’m Jen, and this is my awesome ministry partner (and husband). Craig and I got married on June 29, 2013, and we are the proud mom and dad of two furry children, Daisy Duke and Rosco P. Barton. We have both been in church our whole lives and started serving Jesus when we were little. We are thankful that we have amazing parents and families who love the Lord. They made sure that we always knew about God’s love.

I felt the calling to serve in ministry when I was in middle school, and I began serving in ministry positions when I was 18. Craig also has a ministry call on his life. We met while studying in the Christian Studies program at Bluefield College. I worked with “at-risk” kids in an after-school program while I was in college and loved every minute. Then Craig and I worked together in youth ministry for several years. Now we are the children’s ministers at Landmark.

We have learned so much about God and His love for us, and we are excited to be able to share that with children. Since we became Christians when we were so young, we know that learning about Jesus at a young age is crucial. We love being involved with everything going on at Landmark! We are experiencing very exciting times here, and it’s an honor to be serving in children’s ministry.
